Restaurants hotels and pubs, including Vivat Bacchus and the Vineyard at Stockcross, tell us what promotions they are running to attract customers.
Extreme cheeseboard
Testing the mettle of City boys, Vivat Bacchus at London Bridge and Farringdon has introduced an extreme cheeseboard that includes the ‘smelliest, priciest, runniest, oldest, hottest and sweetest’ cheeses available. The cheeses include Vieux Lille (smelliest); Brillat Truffe (priciest); Parmesan (oldest at four years); and Epoisses (runniest). The whole board is priced at £22.50.
Wine discounts
Until the end of the year, country house hotel the Vineyard at Stockcross has come up with a wine-based offer for every day of the week. Highlights include BYO on Tuesdays, 30 per cent off classic vintages on Wednesdays and Thursdays, iconic wine at a special ‘by the glass’ price on Saturdays, and vintage Tattinger at non-vintage prices on Sundays.
Rustic Italian celebration
Soho House-owned Pizza East will toast rustic Italian cooking with a new rolling offer, ‘Meatball Tuesdays’. Offered alongside the a la carte, a three-course menu priced at just £15 will be available, featuring a plate of Figs and Burrata followed by Meatballs (with a choice of sides including spaghetti) and a dessert of Gelato or Sorbet.
Country House pop-up
Featured on Channel 4’s Country House Rescue last month, Pentillie Castle will be hosting a pop-up restaurant headed by Philip Burgess of The Dartmoor Inn in Lydford, Devon. Local game is the theme, and the five-course tasting menu with coffe and petit fours will cost £47.50. Wine matching is available at an additional cost.
