A 48 bedroom luxury hotel in south Scotland, touted as an ideal location for weddings, has just gone on the market following a “multi-million pound” redevelopment.
Located overlooking the picturesque Clyde Valley near the town of Larkhall, Lanarkshire, the hotel also features a split-level restaurant called the Ash Grill, a public bar and lounge with conservatory, an external children’s soft play area and beer garden.
A spokesman for Christie + Co, which is handling the sale, told BigHospitality that the firm would not be publishing a guide price, but inviting offers for the freehold.
He confirmed that there had been good initial interest in the property, but that it was “early days”.
Following the redevelopment the property now boasts the “largest function facility in Lanarkshire”, according to the agents, with two additional conference suites contained within the original part of the hotel. Meanwhile, the function suite can be divided to offer two conference facilities with capacity for 100 and 300 respectively.
Externally there is a 200-capacity car park, as well as gardens complete with pagoda and feature bridge, which have been touted as ideal for wedding photographs with the Clyde Valley as the backdrop.
Brian Sheldon, director of Christie + Co said: “The Shawlands Park Hotel is one of the newest luxury hotels in the Lanarkshire region and has already established an excellent reputation for weddings and conferences. The business also boasts a well-renowned restaurant in the Ash Grill.
“There is no question that there will be no shortage of buyers for the Shawlands Park Hotel. The building blocks have been firmly laid for an experienced operator to further promote the hotel as the number one wedding venue within the Lanarkshire region,” he added.
