Michelin-starred chefs team up for London Restaurant Festival lunches

A line-up of Michelin-starred chefs including Raymond Blanc and Bruno Loubet will collaborate to serve ten  Sunday lunches as part of the London Restaurant Festival 2010

A line-up of Michelin-starred chefs including Raymond Blanc and Bruno Loubet will collaborate to serve ten Sunday lunches as part of the London Restaurant Festival (LRF) 2010 (4-18 October).

The one-off event, named American Express 10-10-10, will take place at ten London restaurants on 10 October 2010, with each pairing showcasing their individual styles and collaborative ideas through each dish.

The line-up announced includes:

  • Claude Bosi, Hibiscus with Alain Roux, The Waterside Inn, Bray, Berks
  • Bruno Loubet, Bistro Bruno Loubet with Raymond Blanc, Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, Great Milton
  • Richard Corrigan, Bentley’s with Sat Bains, Restaurant Sat Bains, Nottingham
  • Anthony Demetre, Arbutus with Tom Kerridge, The Hand and Flowers, Marlow
  • Jeremy Lee, Blue Print Café with Michael Smith, The Three Chimneys, Isle of Skye
  • Vivek Singh, Cinnamon Kitchen with Simon Rogan, L'Enclume, Cartmel, Cumbria
  • Mark Hix, The Chop House with Mitch Tonks, The Seahorse Restaurant, Dartmouth
  • Tim Hughes & Simon Wadham, Rivington Grill with Shaun Hill, The Walnut Tree, Abergavenny
  • Matthew Foxon, Criterion with Steven Smith, Freemasons Country Inn, Wiswell, Lancs
  • Anna Hansen, The Modern Pantry with Chris Meredith, Punch Bowl Inn, Crosthwaite, Cumbria

Loubet, who will team with Blanc for the event, said: “Working alongside Raymond for the London Restaurant Festival will be the highlight of the year for me and all the team at Bistrot Bruno Loubet.”

Fay Machler, chair of the LRF, said the event was designed to bring together natural peers in an industry that fosters ‘creative and productive rivalry.

“Of course the Festival was created to celebrate the matchless range of restaurants in London and the talent for which the city is the forcing ground, but this year we also want to bridge that divide between ‘us and them’ – chefs working in London and those in the rest of the UK.

“The personalities that have come together to plan unique meals will produce a one-off occasion that is certain to divert and delight as well as fostering camaraderie and experimentation in customers and chefs alike.”

Booking information

Those wishing to attend one of the Sunday lunches will need to be an American Express cardholder, using their card number to secure the booking.

Other events held as part of the LRF, such as Festival Menus, a series of £10 menus that will run at over 800 restaurants over the two-week period, will be open to all consumers.

Pearl chef Jun Tanaka and Mark Jankel, chef and founder of The Food Initiative, will also be taking a mobile Street Kitchen on a tour around London, stopping at Covent Garden, Spitalfields and two additional locations.

Gordon Ramsay capsule

Separately, the auction for a seat at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant capsule on the London Eye is now open for bidding. The silent auctions, held in honour of the LRF's charity of choice Street Smart, will see the ten highest bidders enjoy what is being called the most exclusive chef's table in the UK.
