Peach Pubs has expanded its business by branching out into book publishing, and will launch co-owner and writer Jo Eames’ first novel next week.

In a bid to revive the tradition of book reading and writing in pubs, Peach Publishing, based in North Oxfordshire, will publish and sell books through the group’s stable of 13 gastropubs.

Eames, whose novel The Faithless Wife will launch on 10 June at Peach Pub The Fishes in Oxford, said: “We're very excited at the launch of Peach Publishing as we think it brings another string to our bow, as well as being good news for pubs, writers and readers alike.

“We felt that our willingness to innovate and our focus on friendly, welcoming pubs would stand us in good stead to develop the business this way. We pride ourselves on only ever serving produce that we would be happy to be served ourselves, and the same now goes for our books.”

Peach will place the book launch at the heart of its summer fundraising activities, selling the novel in each of its pubs and online at www.peachpublishing.co.uk for £9.99. It will also be available through independent bookshops, with £1 from each sale going to Cancer Research UK.
