The Berkeley in Knightsbridge has kitted out select bedroom suites with Apple’s iPad ahead of the tablet’s launch in the UK next month.
Once hotel staff have demonstrated the key features of the iPad at check-in, guests staying in the hotel’s Berkeley, Conservatory and Chelsea Suites will be able to use the complimentary device for a range of entertainment and concierge services during their stay.
Klaus Kabelitz, general manager of The Berkeley, said: “We are continuously looking for ways to improve our level of intuitive service and believe that our guests will appreciate a first-hand introduction to the iPad prior to its launch in the UK later this year.
“The Berkeley has a long track-record of innovative amenities and one-off services and we feel that this offering fits in perfectly with what our guests expect from a true 5 star hotel experience.”
The Berkeley’s iPad users will be able to use the device to read the morning paper, entertain children with interactive games and research the best places to visit in the local area using the concierge service’s insider tips. The hotel also plans to expand and develop its range of Berkeley-exclusive apps by the end of the year.
