Von Essen has appointed a new head chef to oversee the catering operation at Seaham Hall in Co. Durham, following Kenny Atkinson’s recent move to Rockliffe Hall.
Max Wilson, who previously worked as Atkinson’s sous chef at Seaham Hall, moves into his first head chef’s position at the Michelin-starred restaurant, where he will serve a modern European menu.
Bernard Bloodworth, general manager of Seaham Hall, said he was excited about the appointment of Wilson, who has 16 years of experience gleaned from working at the Michelin starred Tean Restaurant at St Martins Hotel on the Isles of Scilly, the QE2’s Millenium Cruise and Hotel Endsleigh.
“Seaham Hall and von Essen have a history of giving a platform for young chefs to achieve great things and Max could be the best yet,” he said. “We are extremely excited about the future that lies ahead.”
Hotel Missoni appointment
Meanwhile, Hotel Missoni has appointed a new marketing and sales director for its five-star property in Edinburgh.
Tamara Kobiolke joins the 136-bedroom hotel from her position as director fo sales at Cameron House Hotel.
Australian-born Kobiolke, said: “I am filled with much anticipation taking on the sales and marketing role at Hotel Missoni Edinburgh. It’s exciting to be involved with the project at the turn of 2010 as we have a fantastic team in place.”
