Hospitality individuals and businesses, including Joe Queen, executive head chef at the Thistle Hotel in Glasgow, have been honoured for their dedication to the industry at Springboard’s Awards for Excellence 2009.
With 17 awards across categories focusing on promoting careers, attracting people and employment practice, the Springboard Awards for Excellence aim to recognise ‘the best’ in the hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism industry.
Unanimous in the decision, the award’s judges awarded Queen the Chris Beaumont Special Award for his outstanding contribution to the industry and support for Springboard.
Anne Pierce, chief executive of Springboard UK, said: “The awards truly celebrate achievement in the industry. The number and quality of award entries this year has been incredible and all of our winners and short-listed candidates should be hugely proud of their achievements.”
