Premium cognac Remy Martin's new IceBoxx, which freezes liquid to -18C, has been launched to help businesses boost cognac sales in the run-up to Christmas

Launched to the on-trade this month, the IceBoxx, which improves the taste and texture of cognac through its freeziung process, will be accompanied by supporting POS and training sessions with Remy Martin brand ambassador Alex Quintin.

Anthony Habert, senior brand manager for Remy Martin at distributor First Drinks, said the IceBoxx has been designed to help boost VSOP sales in the run-up to Christmas.

“The IceBoxx is designed to capitalise on a new trend of drinking cognac bought over from the US and gives people in the UK the opportunity to try frozen cognac and join in this pop-culture phenomenon,” he said. “We are committed to supporting the on-trade and are confident that the IceBoxx will drive overall profits for the trade, and money through tills of individual bars.”

“Usually served at room temperature, Rémy Martin already has a fiercely loyal following from consumers and this method of serving the liquid will not only cement these relationships, but open up opportunities to a new generation of consumers who would not normally think to order a cognac at the bar. Cognac is a much more versatile spirit than people traditionally think and as the world's number one premium cognac, we feel we have a duty to push the category forward.”
