Scottish bar and restaurant operator, Fuller Thomson, has enlarged its estate to seven with the purchase of the freehold interest of the Doghouse in Dundee.

The pub, famous for hosting live music events, will be renovated before being re-opened under a new name later in the year, but will keep its strong music focus.

Fuller Thomson owners Gordon Fuller and Gary Thomson bought the venue through Christie & Co who secured deals for them on Thomson the Nobles pub and the Holyrood Tavern in Edinburgh earlier this year.

Thomson said of the company's new acquisition: “It’s an institution and we want to assure people that there will continue to be a great music programme when the venue reopens".

The new owners also plan to offer an all-day food menu and wide range of beers, ales, wines and spirits.
