Jamie’s Italian leads restaurant line-up at new Cardiff shopping centre
Eight restaurants, including Wales’s first Jamie’s Italian, have been confirmed to open in the new St. David’s 2 Shopping Centre in Cardiff when it launches at the end of October.
The shopping centre, a joint venture between Capital Shopping Centres (CSC) and Land Securities, will join the existing St. David’s shopping centre to create 1.3m sq ft of retail space, making Cardiff one of the top five UK shopping destinations.
Joining Jamie Oliver’s mid-market Italian restaurant in the centre’s Eastside catering wing, are Yo Sushi, Wagamama, Pizza Express, Café Rouge, Chimichanga, Nandos and Gourmet Burger Kitchen, although several catering spaces are still under negotiation.
Joanne Skilton, of CSC, said: “St David’s will provide Cardiff with a restaurant destination befitting one of Europe’s brightest capital cities. Eastside will be a destination in its own right for those seeking quality food in a stylish environment."
St. David’s 2 will also see the opening of two Starbucks, a BB’s Coffee & Muffins, Costa Coffee, Muffin Break, Revive and Welsh ice-cream parlour Cadwaladers.
Upon its opening on 22 October, St. David’s 2 will attract more than £250m of new spending to the city centre every year.
