Butlins has opened a £20m spa hotel at its Bognor Regis resort as part of a six year £100m investment into its three sites in the UK.

The 200-bedroom Ocean Hotel at the resort in West Sussex includes a 670-square metre spa featuring 10 treatment rooms, singing showers, disco lifts and a snow cave.  It will create an estimated 100 new jobs.

It follows the opening of the Shoreline hotel - a 160-bedroom seafront hotel which opened at the holiday camp in August 2005 to enable the resort to appeal to more guests.

The Ocean Hotel's 246-cover bar and restaurant - called Kaleidoscope - will be open to all guests staying at the resort and serve dishes such as pizzas, stir fries and salads from a buffet or more intricate dishes such as Chateaubriand, confit of lamb or fillet of sea bass from its Signature Selection menu.

Butlins managing director Richard Bates said: “The new Ocean Hotel with spa has already proved to be hugely popular, attracting both new and existing customers to the Butlins Resort in Bognor Regis and we open with more than £1 million sales achieved to date. It’s already been an exciting and successful year for Butlins which we anticipate will continue now that the new Ocean Hotel is officially open."

Room prices start at £65 for a double and £96 for a five-berth family room with a mid-week off peak bed and breakfast break for a family of four costing £366.
