Manchester’s Barca Bar sold for around £750k
Manchester’s Barca Bar, once part- owned by Simply Red singer Mick Hucknall, has been sold to a local property company for around £750k.
After a ‘competitive bidding process,’ Adam Geoffrey Management (AGM) acquired the 610-cover bar and 300-cover restaurant situated next to the Bridgewater Canal from Cougar Leisure.
Simon Chaplin, director at Christie + Co who negotiated the deal, said well located sites such as Barca are continuing to attract buyers despite the recession.
“We are now witnessing a number of cases where the expectations of the seller are being matched by the aspirations of the buyer, or as demonstrated in this instance a number of interested bidders.”
AGM now have plans to refurbish the site under the Barca name at the end of August, offering ‘food and drink aimed at real Manchester people’.
