Eight Bank to launch members club in Moorgate

Private members club Eight Bank is to expand with a second rooftop site in Moorgate, complete with restaurant, bar and bespoke tailoring service

Private member’s club Eight Bank is to open a new, exclusive rooftop venue near Shoreditch in July, complete with restaurant, members bar and on-site bespoke tailor.

Eight Moorgate EC2 will be set out over two floors on the rooftop of 1 Dysart Street, with a members bar and lounge, library, exterior smoking lounge, tailor and restaurant spread over a total of 9000 sq ft.

Windows around the circumference of the building offer panoramic views of the City from every angle, while the interior is furnished with dark leathers, woods and fabrics. Balconies surrounding the club act as an exterior smoking lounge, as well as a space for hosting barbeques, spit roasts and live jazz.

The dining offer at Eight Moorgate comes from head chef Richard Lyndon, who has created an international menu for the club’s 90-cover restaurant, two private dining areas and chef’s table, and features dishes like Salmon and Halibut Ceviche, Dressed Cornish Crab, Grilled Calf’s Liver with Champ, Pancetta and Onion Gravy and Sesame Roasted Salmon with Spiced Lentil Salsa. An all-day menu will also be served in the upstairs lounge.

Alexandre Santamaria, previously of D&D London, will act as operations director for Eight Moorgate, while Anthony Killip, previously of Eight Bank, will join as general manager.

Property developer Brandon Kinsman, who launched Eight Bank underneath Change Alley in London in 2006, said: “We are delighted to be expanding the Eight Club brand in this vibrant and exciting area and look forward to welcoming an eclectic crowd from all walks of life.”
