Restaurants, hotels and pubs share their ideas for events and promotions

BigHospitality picks out some of the promotions, offers and other special events happening at restaurants, hotels and pubs this week.

Bollywood nights

Tuesday night at Covent Garden’s Moti Mahal Indian restaurant is now known as Bollywood night. For £20 diners are given a 45 minute Bollywood dance class with an instructor from Bollywood Grooves before sitting down to a two-course Indian dinner. The package is also being marketed to businesses as a team building exercise, with companies able to book the event privately for up to 25 people on Sunday and Monday evenings or Saturday afternoons.

Lebanese wine

Vivat Bacchus, the London restaurant where as much emphasis is placed on the wine as the food, has introduced a series of wine dinners for £65 per person. The next one on April 8 will feature a selection of wines from Chateau Musar in Lebanon. The winery’s Ralph Hochar will talk guests through a selection of his family’s finest wines while they eat from a menu specially created for the night by the restaurant’s head chef Stuart Ferguson.

Tartan quiz

Scottish bar and restaurant The Albannach is hosting a themed quiz night to celebrate Tartan Day on April 6. The Great Scottish Quiz will be held `doonstairs` at the venue and will be hosted by quizmaster Lester Middlehurst of the Daily Mail. The Albannach is charging each entrant £5 and is giving away prizes such as £300 to spend on dinner and whisky masterclasses.

Cherry blossom

Japanese restaurant Saki is celebrating the arrival of the cherry blossom season with a special menu featuring cherry leaf and blossoms. The seven course Chef’s Omakase menu at the London restaurant also includes seasonal edible Japanese flower nanohana and is paired with wine and sake. Dishes include Cherry Leaf Wrapped Turbot and Domyoji Dumpling Sakura-Mishi with Gin-An Sauce and Saikyo Miso Marinated Black Cod.

Phoenix deals

Phoenix House, the luxury serviced apartments in Chelsea, have special rates of £155 a night during April and are throwing in an organic welcome hamper and unlimited Wi-Fi too. Guests will also be given a free glass of Champagne and 20 per cent off the bill at Le Cercle, the French restaurant which shares the building with the service apartments.
