Noodle restaurant chain Wagamama is set to cash in on the takeaway market with the launch of a dedicated website for take-out orders.
At wagamamatakeout.com customers can place and pay for a take-out order for collection, specifying what time they want to pick it up.
The system, developed by Micros Systems, is directly connected to the EPOS system which sends the order through to the kitchen 15 minutes before its pick-up time, meaning waiting staff do not need to be involved in the ordering process.
Wagamama chief executive Steve Hill said: “Wagamama has always looked to new technologies to deliver fast service so it only makes sense that we offer a fully integrated online ordering facility that’s focused on the customer experience."
More restaurants are now offering takeaway services as diners look to save money but still enjoy restaurant-quality food.
According to online takeaway portal just-eat.co.uk, the number of people ordering takeaway online rose by 70 per cent over six months at the end of last year.
