The AA has announced 18 new additions to their higher Rosette awards, with The Latymer at Pennyhill Park Hotel scooping four AA Rosettes.

The fine-dining restaurant in Surrey, headed up by former Devonshire Arms head chef Michael Wignall, is the only restaurant to be awarded four AA-Rosettes in the 2010 AA Restaurant Guide, to be published in September this year.

Seventeen other new and long established restaurants have been awarded three AA Rosettes, most notably for H?l?ne Darroze at The Connaught, Ambassade de L’lle and Richard Corrigan’s eponymous Mayfair restaurant, which opened in July and November last year respectively.

Giovanna Grossi, AA Hotel Services’ group area manager, expressed her delight at the amount of restaurants from all over the UK achieving such high status. “It’s particularly exciting to see new ventures such as HTl?ne Darroze at The Connaught and Corrigan’s coming straight in at a three Rosette level while longer-established restaurants have worked hard to make the transition from two to three Rosettes,” she said.

“Restaurants serving food of a three Rosette standard are worthy of recognition from well beyond their local area, while four Rosette-awarded restaurants exhibit culinary skills that demand national recognition. I am glad these eighteen very deserving restaurants have been acknowledged for their efforts.”
