Giles Thompson, chef/owner of the Earl of March pub in Chichester, West Sussex, has appointed a new head chef to run his kitchen of four.
Mathias Thurmshim (pictured right), had previously trained in Germany before moving to England to secure a position at the Dorchester and Ritz hotels, the latter of which Thompson was the executive chef.
“I am delighted to be joining Giles again,” Thurshim said. “It’s a great privilege to be a chef working in Sussex, a most exciting time as there is so much excellent produce around, getting lovely responses from customers just what we’re aiming for.”
Meanwhile, Robin Gill has joined the team D&D`s Sauterelle restaurant as their new head chef. Having left his position as head chef of the Emirates Stadium, Gill brings to the restaurant his expertise in Michelin French cooking, gleaned from experience working at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons and the Oak Room.
Glaswegian restaurant, R34 at India Inchinnan, has welcomed new front of house manager Ross McDonald to its folds. McDonald had formerly worked at Langs Hotel, Le Cahrdon D’Or and most recently, One Dveonshire Gardens, but has returned to his home town to work at the newly opened restaurant situated in a renovated Art Deco building behind Glasgow International Airport.
