Patisserie Valerie brothers Enzo and Roberto Scalzo have opened a new all-day brasserie and art gallery in London’s Belgravia.
Da Scalzo Art Brasserie will deliver a classic menu in its Grade II listed Victorian building in Chester Square, while the mezzanines of the property act as both dining room and art gallery.
Works by artists such as Dragon’s Den entrepreneur Guy Portelli, Adam Birtwistle and the late Sandra Blow adorn the restaurant in conjunction with gallery partner Highgate Fine Art.
With seating for 76 covers on the ground floor and heated outside terrace, as well as limited space at the white carrara marble bar, de Scalzo serves moderately priced breakfast, lunch and dinner menus with a French/ Italian slant.
Restaurant Manager Aldo Peddis joins the da Scalzo team after 11 years at Chelsea’s La Famiglia, along with Head Chef Gilberto Padda who leaves his position at Getti in London.
The Scalzo brothers first launched Patisserie Valerie in 1987, but sold off their eight cafes and three London franchises to Luke Johnson in September 2006.
