Former chef at La Dolce Vita Ward Ludbrook has opened his own upmarket restaurant in Market Harbourough, Leicestershire, overlooking the Union Wharf marina.
The Waterfront Restaurant and Bar now occupies a grade II listed warehouse on the waterside, consisting of the entrance and bar lounge on the first floor, with the 74-cover restaurant on the ground level.
Ward has also assumed the position of Head Chef, and has created a menu of classic seafood and brasserie dishes with sea bass, mussels, scallops, duck and beef steaks, as well as including more exotic items such as Ostrich fillet.
“We offer a whole range of dishes to suit professionals on business lunches right through to couples on romantic dates, and we source our ingredients, where possible, from local suppliers,” he said. “The Waterfront is the perfect place to take your taste buds on a great voyage of discovery, and backed up with a great crew on board it’s a journey worth going on.”
Ward has incorporated some of the warehouse’s original features into the design of the Waterfront restaurant, exposing brick walls, wood beams and stone flooring, and has chosen to accentuate them through contemporary lighting and furnishings. Diners will be able to watch their meals being prepared in the open kitchen, as well as making use of the heated outside terrace.
