Greenwood Estates has announced it is selling of its spa hotels Greenwoods Hotel Spa & Retreat and the Rivenhall Hotel.
The two properties in Essex are believed to be worth around £17m following extensive investment and refurbishment made by the company over the past seven years.
Greenwoods, which opened as a hotel and spa in 2001, is in a refurbished and extended 17th Century Grade II Listed manor house in Stock, set within five acres of land. It has 39 bedrooms, an 86-cover restaurant, spa, gym, solarium and an indoor swimming pool.
The Rivenhall Hotel, situated close to the Great Leigh racecourse, was bought by Greenwood Estates in 2005 and includes 55-bedrooms, a 50-cover restaurant, conference facilities and a self-contained leisure centre. The hotel also has approved planning consent for an extension to house 100 bedrooms.
Jeremy Jones, Director at Christie Co, the company in charge of the sales said: “Immediate access to the dynamic local, commercial region and excellent communication lines to the City of London mean these two exciting businesses will generate substantial interest either individually or jointly."
