Barbeque Nation Goes Global

Indian restaurant chain Barbeque Nation announces plans to open up to 100 new outlets around the world

INDIA based restaurant chain Barbeque Nation has announced plans for international expansion into the UK market.

The chain, a subsidiary of the hotel group Sayaji Hotels, plans to open an outlet in London, but has yet to finalise a location in the capital.

The aggressive expansion plans include 49 outlets around the world by 2009, in locations from England, to Singapore and Dubai.

The rollout will be overseen by company leader Roy Chaudhury, and will involve up to 100 new sites within India, with the initial focus on standalone restaurants, with subsequent consideration of locations within shopping centres and other establishments.

Barbeque Nation currently operates only seven sites, four more are planned for Delhi by the end of 2008, and later the brand aims to have outposts in every major city in the country.

By the end of 2009 they aim to have opened 49 outlets around the world, in the mold of the original where customers cook the food themselves on grills.
