RESTAURANT history has been made with 3,000 bookings made in just 72 hours for the reopening of the Chicago Rib Shack in London’s Knightsbridge.
Despite a ten-year absence, the restaurant hasn’t been forgotten and thanks to some clever viral marketing by Cowan Group, including the use of social networking site Facebook, it will now re-open with a record number of advance bookings.
The clever advance campaign also involved teasing hints at the restaurants secret location - which was only revealed recently - and an email out to interested parties which lead to a click-through to the site from 65 per cent of those who read it.
“Within 72 hours of opening the booking system over 3000 covers had been taken. We are extremely pleased with the response both for the return of the Shack and the website created by Cowan Group”. Said Jon Yantin, Chicago Rib Shack director.
The original Chicago Rib Shack was a classic London dining destination and one of the very first of its kind in the industry.
Tucked away down a quaint side street close to Harrods in Knightsbridge, it was the favorite stomping ground of many people from all walks of life, to enjoy a meal and some quality time. In fact, Princess Diana and Princes William and Harry used it frequently as their favourite local haunt.
