Adam Tooby-Desmond promoted to head chef at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal

Dinner by Heston Blumenthal has announced the appointment of Adam Tooby-Desmond as its head chef.

Tooby-Desmond has worked at the two Michelin starred restaurant in Knightsbridge since 2017 having come through the ranks from Ddemi chef de partie. His new role took effect at the start of the month, replacing Jon Bowring who has been head chef at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London restaurant since 2019.

Originally from Cambridge, he trained at the Westminster Kingsway College in London before joining St John’s College, University of Cambridge in 2011 as an apprentice.

Before joining Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, he spent two years at Mark Poynton’s Michelin starred Alimentum restaurant in Cambridge.

The restaurant is currently serving a Royal Cooking Menu that celebrates the coronation of King Charles III. Available until 31 May, the menu marks the different royal coronations that have taken part throughout history and has been researched by the team and led by chef director of Dinner by Heston Blumenthal Deiniol Pritchard, together with Tooby-Desmond, senior sous chef Jake Oswin, and head pastry chef Jenny Cheong.
