Jöro's Luke French and Stacey Sherwood are to launch a new dining and drinking concept within the new G.P.O Food Hall within Liverpool’s MetQuarter development.

Meaning ‘raw’, Nama is planning to launch in late may and - like the pair's Sheffield flagship - will be heavily inspired by Japan, in this case Tokyo izakayas.

As the name suggests, the menu will be almost completely composed of raw dishes, with a focus on sashimi and nigiri.

Launch dishes include Cornish seabass with truffle, yuzu and soy; temaki (open hand rolls) with Sicilian red prawn, katsuo furikake and soy; tartare of wagyu smoked à la minute with caviar, wasabi and ponzu; seaweed Caesar salad.

Premium quality, sashimi grade fish will be used alongside responsibly sourced ingredients from the UK, EU and Japan.

The drinks offer will be focused on sake and cocktails including creations such as shiso and mandarin soda and yuzu negroni.

The husband and wife duo launched Jöro in Sheffield in December 2016 and in late summer 2019 opened Konjö, a street food concept, just around the corner from Jöro, which ranks on our list of the top 100 restaurants in the UK and also holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand.

An outpost of Konjö is also expected to open at G.P.O, which is located in Liverpool city centre and intended to be a hub for ‘independent and totally unique food vendors’.
