New GM for Crewe Hall and education sales director for Elior

QHotels appoints Ian Pollock general manager of Crewe Hall in Cheshire and Elior employs Robert Salmon as education sales director of its Avenance Contracts division

QHotels has appointed Ian Pollock general manager of its Cheshire hotel Crewe Hall following a £13m refurbishment.

Pollock, who has worked at hotels in Europe and South Africa joins the hotel from the former Belfry House Hotel in Manchester, which became a Hallmark hotel earlier this year.

He will be responsible for overseeing the 117-room hotel, its restaurant, conference facilities and spa and leading its staff.

He said: “After undergoing such a massive refurbishment programme, Crewe Hall is set to become one of the premier conference destinations in the Northwest, making it an exciting time for me to be joining the hotel."

Contract caterer Elior UK has also made a key appointment within its Avenance Contracts division.

Robert Salmon, previously director of education services at Aramark, joins the company as education sales director.

Salmon will report to Jan Matthews and be responsible for helping to grow the company.

Matthews said: “We are pleased to welcome such a high calibre individual as Robert to further strengthen our Education team within the Avenance Contracts division. This appointment highlights the ability of the business to attract dynamic, results driven individuals. Robert`s wealth of experience and sales expertise will ensure that he plays a pivotal role in our continued growth.”
